Herbs To Sleep
Tossing and turning all night long and not getting a good night’s sleep can really make your day a drag. End your sleepless nights now with herbs to sleep. These herbs are an all natural alternative remedy to sleeping pills. Some of the alternative herbs used are also well known as anxiety herbs or are used in depression herbal remedies and have been used for relaxing and relieving tension. Most importantly, herbs to sleep do not give you harmful side effects, “hangovers” in the morning, and are not addicting.
Herbs to sleep are made up of herbal extracts from a variety of herbs that normalize sleeping patterns, relax your muscles, and calm your nerves so you can have a nice, long, relaxing sleep and feel refreshed in the morning.
Common Herbs to Sleep:

Also used as stress and pain relievers, to induce restful sleep, and as of studies in 2002 show it can also help for treating asthma, bronchitis, and liver conditions.
- Passionflower - A woody perennial vine found in Peru and Brazil. It grows very quickly with bright, aromatic flowers. Many medicinal properties are harvested in its fruit. Traditionally it has been used as a nerve tonic, to reduce stress, and to lower high blood pressure.
- Lemon Balm - Grown in Peru and has been effective as an anxiety herb and a sedative.
Herbs to sleep are available in to be taking in different forms including tincture, capsules, and tea. The tincture is prepared from 100% pure herbs distilled in water and 40% alcohol. It is recommended that you take 1/2 tablespoon or 7.5ml under the tongue drank in water or juice. Tea should be mixed by using 1 teaspoon of the sleep herb tea mixture in hot water for ten minutes. It is best to drink the tea thirty minutes before bedtime.
Some risks may occur from taking herbs to sleep if you suffer from low blood pressure or take medication to control your blood pressure. Especially if you are thinking about taking Mulungu or Graviola as these have the effect of lowering blood pressure, so you may want to change your dosage of medication. Graviola might reduce friendly bacteria in the digestive tract if you take it for a long time. In this case, you should supplement your diet with probiotics to compensate. If you are ever unsure about taking any herbs to sleep, you should consult a health profession and avoid any risks.

You can usually find some herbal teas just at your grocery store. I found this one called ‘Sleepytime Extra’ (click here to buy) by a company called Celestial Seasonings. Worked quite well for me. Contains Valerian and has a light minty kind of flavor. (click here to buy)
If you are looking for other forms or flavors of herbs to sleep, there are a couple online stores I would suggest. Herbal Remedies and The Natural Store.
